Teen Center

The Teen Center is an after-school program for high school youth that teaches life skills, career prep, college campus visits, tutoring services, counseling, financial literacy, and entrepreneur classes.  L.Y.F.E. offers training and classes that are oftentimes not offered in local high schools. This after-school program gives parents the comfort in knowing their youth are in a safe learning environment during after school hours.   The program is 3:30 pm-6:30 pm, Monday-Friday

This class will teach job readiness training. Youth will be coached through resume writing, proper interview attire, and mock interviewing. They will also be assisted in completing job applications.

In this class, students will be educated on budgeting; the difference between checking and savings. Students will learn how to write and balance a checkbook. They will be informed of credit cards (pros and cons). Students will learn about investing and the purpose of stocks and bonds.  

Tutoring Services: Students will be offered tutoring services in basic high school subjects (Reading, English, History, Science, and Social Studies).

 Each month a college recruiter will come to meet with our students. In the summer months, students will be transported to various college campuses to aid in familiarity and college school selection.

Students will be taught basic living skills to include but not limited to: Personal Hygiene, Healthy Lifestyle, House Keeping, Stress Management, and much more!

Students will have the opportunity to enroll in counseling services. L.Y.F.E. Community Development Corporation partners with L.O.L. Counseling and Consulting Services to offer counseling services to students and their families.

This class is for students to aspire to be their own boss. This class will navigate students through the process of starting their own business and how to market their business.
